About Chronos Cameras from Kron Technologies
Kron Technologies Inc. is a Canadian high-speed imaging system design and manufacturing company, located in the heart of the Greater Vancouver Area (British Columbia). Kron was founded by owner and visionary Designer David Kronstein who wanted to make high-speed imaging accessible to everyone, but high-speed meant a high price tag. Frustrated with the lack of affordable options, he embarked on the journey of creating his own high-speed capture camera from scratch.
We are a company centered around the principles of making the world of high-speed imaging available to everyone from Researchers to Media Creators in a wide variety of industries such as aerospace, manufacturing, advertising, and environmental sciences.
Our focus is providing a self-contained, fully-featured product at an affordable price. Our cameras feature open-source software and constantly evolve as we work closely with our partners to improve the feature set and versatility.
Chronos cameras are designed, produced, and tested in-house at our Canadian headquarters, and available direct and through distribution to markets worldwide.
Camera Models
Chronos currently consists of 3 model groups
– The first released Chronos 1.4 high-speed camera, with High-Resolution: 1280×1024 @ 1,069FPS (max res) and High Frame-Rate: 2/3″ format image sensor captures up to 40,413 Frames Per Second (FPS) at lower resolution.
– The Chronos 2.1-HD high-speed camera with HD-Resolution: 1920x1080p @ 1,000FPS (max res) and High Frame-Rate: 4/3″ format image sensor captures up to 24,046 Frames Per Second (FPS) at lower resolution.
– The Chronos 4K12 high-speed camera with ULTRA HIGH-RESOLUTION – Up to 1,397 FPS @ 4096 x 2160

The Chronos 1.4
This high-speed camera offers an all-in-one, high-resolution, high frame-rate solution that empowers data analysis from some of the top R&D and Aerospace facilities, Universities, and Media Producers in the world. The budget-friendly camera is ideal for a range of applications and measurement techniques such as Vibration Analysis, Schlieren Imaging, and Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV). Get up and running in minutes with the easy-to-use 5″ touchscreen interface and extend the functionality with accessories such as microscope lenses, and high-speed specific lighting. High Frame-Rate: 2/3″ format image sensor captures up to 40,413 Frames Per Second (FPS) at lower resolution.
All-in-One: Completely standalone, untethered operation with a 5″ inch touchscreen display and battery for portability.
Internal Storage: 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB RAM Store footage via the SD card slot.
Lens Mounting: Nikon F, Canon EF and C mounts available as field-swappable options.
Trigger Options: I/O ports enable synchronization and remote triggering via cable, sound, and web-triggers.
